ABOUT

David is currently a PhD researcher at Ulster University, where his doctoral study The Empathetic Gaze: The Visual Languages of Empathy explores the relationship between the act of looking and empathy.

David completed his MFA in Photography with distinction in 2020, following a First-Class Honours degree in Photography from Ulster University in 2017.

Dividing his time between commissioned and personal projects, David’s practice combines conceptual and documentary approaches to examine states of mind, place, and the physical and psychological boundaries that hold us in between.

His work has been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions and is held in public and private collections.
